Biography
Aaron M Corbitt is a native of Florida, born in Merritt island and raised mostly in Lakeland. Aaron is a full time artist, illustrator, musician, writer and filmmaker of twenty years, having painted numerous solo works, as well as countless commissions ranging from landscapes to portraits, figurative works to large scale murals. Aside from composing music for films, Aaron has been a member of The Johnsons, Leapfrog and Weather for Strangers. His 2021 film “Beware! The Hitchhiker!” premiered at the historic Polk Theatre in January 2022. Aaron has also written and illustrated two children’s books, “Misha Loves Veggies” and “Misha in the Court of the Radish King”.
Aaron is the creator of Selph Help Video, a YouTube channel created in 2012 that specializes in comedy shorts and art instruction. You can find more of his work on Instagram and Facebook, Aaron M Corbitt art.
“I’ve been painting for almost twenty years. If I can instill a bit of mystery, adventure, sensuality, stillness, inspiration or excitement in the viewer, I’ve done my job. I find inspiration in history, mythology, sunlight, moonlight, the spaces between footsteps, a passing glance, a midnight dance, the natural world untouched by human hands, fire, water, earth, air, spirit, and dreams I can’t remember. Beauty is an altar to which I am forever a servant.
I integrate all forms of art in my work, from the rhythm of music through the action of dance, always playing with the drama of light and shadow in either conflict or harmony.”
