Biography
I am a visual artist who enjoys drawing, painting, photography, graphic design and crafting. For drawing, I enjoy using a variety of art materials such as colored pencils, oil pastels, digital art, chalk pastels, crayons, etc. For painting, I like to work with watercolors and acrylics. For photography, I mainly enjoy landscape photography and I take cloud and sunset photos as well. For crafting, I like to make blankets, quilts, pillows, placemats and plush dolls, polymer clay jewelry and fingerprint art magnets. My artwork mainly features various interests such as landscapes, music, animals, fantasy and fiction, airplane travel, geometric shapes, pattern designs, and even a couple of mundane objects like streetlights, elevators and washing machines that have drawn my attention for some reason when I was a kid.
I also offer graphic design and web design services and I can do commissions and/or custom orders as well. If you are interested or if you have any questions, please contact me at caseyrobinson@caseyrobinsondesigns.com or fill out the contact form on the "Contact" web page of my website.
I have always had a huge passion for art, especially art with color, since I was a little kid. During my preschool years, I excelled in learning about the basic colors to a point where I got to learn about more complex colors like turquoise, magenta and forest green. I took at least one art class all throughout my four years in high school and attended California State University San Marcos to major in Arts and Technology. I took various visual art classes on drawing, painting, graphic design and photography to figure out where my art skills would fall under, but it turns out, I enjoy all of those things. Years of hard work and dedication have led me to graduate Magna Cum Laude and receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual and Performing Arts in 2017.
Not too long afterwards, I started working as a graphic designer in different areas pretty much figuring out where I would find my "niche". I soon realized that I enjoy working in the fine arts field the most when I worked as an intern for Art By Inna Gallery. I have gained a lot of experience from my internship there by improving my graphic design skills and confidence and working with local and international artists like Inna Pankratova, Irena Petraitiene and Jennifer Mann. I have also developed web design skills and confidence by designing websites for artists, like Inna and myself, along with non-profit organizations like Autism Support Community/Self-Determination Institute and Disability Voices United. Today, I am a collaborator for Self-Determination Institute where I design their three websites and create short animated explainer videos for their Self-Determination Presentation.
I find art, the fine arts and creativity to be very beneficial to myself and to society as a whole. It is not always easy for me to be a social butterfly, but creating artwork helps me express myself. My artwork and art itself have got me to be more out and about than I thought I could be, especially at art events/art vendor events like Art @ The Alley Way or when I am traveling, especially by airplane. I have participated in many art vendor events and had some of my artwork featured at art exhibits throughout Southern California.
Along with creating and showcasing my artwork and bringing ideas to life with art, I also enjoy helping other artists promote their artwork and providing opportunities to young ones to create art since I believe they, along with everyone else, have the potential to be creative and use their creativity to make positive contributions to society. The fine arts field is where I felt most at home in college and where I feel like I can thrive career-wise and in regards to giving to the community.
As I continue to grow my visual arts skills in all of my fields of interest, I also want to write stories. You may notice that some of my drawings and paintings are illustrations of short stories, which are just one to two pages long, that I have been writing to practice my story writing skills. I might try hand painting and/or sculpting beads someday as well.
