FASO Collector Recommends: Debby Fisher

Biography
Debby is an artist creating paintings out of a desire to share at least glimpses of the beauty she sees in our everyday world. Her art training came (and continues to come) through many sources, from university classes (Indiana University of PA and Virginia Commonwealth University) to a variety of inspiring workshops through the years with incredible artists. In the mid 90’s she studied Illustration with Semyon Bilmes. After a time in the illustration business, she was drawn back to oil painting through the work of great artists, such as Chris Hopkins, Michael Dudash, and so many other distinguished artists who she had the privilege of connecting with through the Masterpiece Christian Artists Conferences. Debby then changed her focus toward creating oil paintings for the beauty and joy of fine art.
She is most grateful for her awesome family (who have been known to show up in her work occasionally)! Having been blessed to live in many beautiful parts of the country, Debby and her husband now reside in Southern Oregon. Thankful for this season of painting a variety of subjects and commissioned pieces, her works are in many private collections across the country.
Artist’s Statement
“When you feel called to be an artist, as I do, no matter what’s going on in your life you keep pressing on, even though there are seasons when you can’t give it your all, you keep coming back to it. It’s a desire the Lord’s put within me, and it’s my desire to honor Him with my art and with my life.”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
