BoldBrush Recommends: Donna Lee Nyzio
Biography
I am a traditional oil painter beginning a new studio practice in Texas. I was traveling the eastern seaboard from Canada to St. Augustine, Florida from my North Carolina studio painting the working watermen, the coastal landscape, as well as birds.
In January 2022, I moved to coastal Texas, a town very similar the same great boat painting opportunities. Many of my recent marine art paintings are of Texas boats and there are a LOT of birds.
Some of my more recent boats have 4 legs or are wearing boots... they look strangely like cows and horses.... a very interesting, but not unexpected addition to my portfolio.
So here, in 2023, and. probably part of 2024 my focus is on production. With a cross country move, there was not much time to paint, but there was plenty of time to set up a studio and check out the new neighborhood. So my focus is panting and finding new opportunities to stretch my skills.
I have not yet planned out what 2024 will bring... I will figure that out over Thanksgiving.
