Biography
My architectural-engineering work experience, admiration for world class artists and my personal love for design influenced my approach as I studied and taught myself to paint in watercolors. Although introduced to watercolors by Michael Borne, national signature artist and architect, I always strive to create my own art style. Watercolors quickly became my only medium.
My interest in art started as a young boy watching my grandmother paint the Louisiana pine forest scenes with homemade acrylic paints. Then later in life I watched and painted with my mother with oil paints. I became even more interested in art and design during my 25 years of work experience as the managing partner of a Dallas based architectural-engineering firm where I met and worked with some the most noted national and international architectural designers.
I enjoy teaching beginner and intermediate watercolor classes. I have conducted demonstrations for many Texas watercolor societies, including The Woman's Club of Ft. Worth, Irving Art Society, SWA Art Society, and Weatherford Art Society. I also teach 1, 2 and 3 day watercolor work shops.
I have over 25 years' experience as a watercolor artist with signatures from four national watercolor societies. I was awarded a Honorary Life Member by Southwestern Watercolor Society.
