Biography
Jane Cerami is a fine artist, New York born and raised. Her love for art began as a young child grasping anything she could to color or draw with to create and develop her artwork. After a limited education in art in elementary school she managed to apply and get accepted to an exclusive vocational art High School in Manhattan, despite a traditional upbringing. There, she was introduced to a full art curriculum of visual art and technique. Upon graduation, she continued her studies in fine arts at the School of Visual Arts, also in Manhattan. Soon after she pursued a career as a graphic designer and art director of numerous magazines to earn a living, putting her fine arts on the back burner. After raising a family and years of working in the field and taking fine art workshops here and there, she finally was able to pursue her true passion as a fine artist. Her practice has come full circle to the present by painting portraits, figurative subjects and landscapes incorporating realism, emotion and relevant content.
Her recent studies with her mentor, Arthur Gain, has elevated her skills to becoming the artist she aspires to be.
