Biography
Jenny grew up surrounded by art. Her formative years were spent exploring, drawing, painting, and sculpting in the Torpedo Factory Art Center, a converted World War II munitions factory, where her mother maintained a public studio. She considers herself lucky to have been exposed to so many different mediums, as well as the business side of art. Even before she began any serious painting of her own, she was absorbing the friendly critiques, knowledge-sharing, and camaraderie that characterized the artist community.
Jenny began practicing watercolor in earnest in 2002 and began painting professionally at the age of 15. She is drawn to the human face and figure, which, like watercolor, are two of the most difficult technical challenges for the artist to master. She enjoys the challenge of manipulating such an unforgiving medium to create lifelike portraits with luminosity and depth. Jenny lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two children, and two cats.
