Biography
“The whole culture is telling you to hurry, while the art is telling you to take your time.
Always listen to the art.” -Junot Diaz
Let me take you on a journey through my artistic evolution. It all started in a high school art class when I was captivated by Claude Monet’s lily pond series. The way he used color mesmerized me, and it still does to this day. In the fall of 2022, I fulfilled a bucket list item by visiting his house in France, an hour outside of Paris. The experience only deepened my appreciation for his work.
Life took me on different paths in my 20s, and art took a backseat to the demands of family and a full-time job. However, upon my retirement in 2015, I embraced my strong desire to create once again. I enrolled in an art class at the local community center and fell in love with painting all over again. Since then, I haven’t stopped experimenting and exploring the world of art. My mind is constantly filled with ideas, finding shapes and colors in my surroundings, and envisioning how I can incorporate interesting elements into my compositions.
One of my greatest passions is painting birds. They symbolize freedom, beauty, and a spiritual connection to nature. I often find inspiration in the birds I observe outside my kitchen window. It felt natural to incorporate playful interactions between patterns, shapes, and vintage items to create images that tell stories or evoke emotional responses.
As I continue to grow and evolve as an artist, my painting subjects will change as well. I am always seeking new inspiration and cannot wait to see where this new chapter of life will take me. You can join me on this painting journey by signing up for my collectors club newsletter. Rest assured, I’ll keep you up to date without overwhelming your inbox.
Come along and experience the joy of discovery as I capture moments in time through my artwork. Perhaps my paintings will even jog your own memories and invite a smile.
Thank you for joining me on this artistic adventure.
