Biography
Creating abstract and abstracted realism oil paintings that are recognizable for spontaneous, energetic brushwork and vibrant, harmonious color balance with texture as an intrinsic design element. Exploring color and shape relationships with both random and deliberate surface qualities through extensive layering and pushing the physical properties of paint.
A variety of painters inspire me, including: Joan Brown, Mary Cassat, Lee Krasner, Berthe Morisot, Edouard Vuillard, David Park, Pierre Bonnard, Vincent VanGogh, Paul Gauguin, Antonio Mancini, Richard Diebenkorn, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Nicolai Fechin, Chaim Soutine, Lucian Freud, Daniel Garber, and Gustav Klimt.
