Biography
I am an artist painting primarily with pastels. I am drawn to paint places that resonate for me in some way - something catches my eye, such as the light or shadows, or a sense of energy or stillness. During the process of sketching and painting, I discover more deeply what I see and feel, which becomes part of the painting.
In my other work as a nurse-midwife, I have been with people during physically and emotionally intense times, both joyful and difficult. This has given me an understanding of deeply felt emotions. I want my paintings to reflect the deeply felt experiences and moments when we are fully present in our surroundings and in ourselves.
