Biography
Kitty Tidwell Weston is an emerging artist and resides north of Huntsville, Alabama close to the Tennessee state line. She began her journey into the art world through her love of calligraphy. Upon an early retirement from federal service, she began taking workshops and painting classes with Impressionist artist, Jennifer Stottle Taylor. She continues to broaden her skills as an artist through mentoring and workshops with master artists throughout the country and Canada.
Kitty is a member of Alabama Plein Air Artist and has helped host events in the Huntsville/north Alabama and southern Tennessee area.
She is a member of the Huntsville Art Museum Guild as well as Co-Chair of the Art Community Service Project with the GFWC DuMidi Women's Club in Huntsville. Her art has also been on display at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens and Heartfelt Studio and Gallery in Lowe Mill.
The inspiration for her paintings come from her love of botanicals, nature and her travels. She loves painting en pleir air as a reason to get outdoors and explore her favorite local painting locations and traveling to discover new painting sites. Her favorite subjects to paint are florals and landscapes. Her paintings are both representational and abstract.
