BoldBrush Recommends: Lisa DeLuise

Biography
Lisa DeLuise is a soft pastel artist that creates impressionist paintings on paper. Lisa finds most of her painting inspiration in the Hudson Valley region of New York. "I really enjoy setting up my easel alongside an area pond or stream and capturing the scene while the sun and shadows move across the landscape. Capturing how the sunlight reflects off the water or how the sun creates such beautiful colors and shadow patterns are subjects I never tire of experiencing and painting." While painting small studies en plein air (outdoors) is nourishment for her soul, Lisa often returns to the studio with the plein air study and develops it to a finish. Larger paintings are frequently created from the scenes using the notes of color and light experienced in the field.
