FASO Collector Recommends: Nancy Laliberte

Biography
Nancy LaLiberte was born and raised in western Wisconsin. Her love for art was apparent as a very young child after she snuck a crayon into her crib and created her first wall “mural” at the age of two. Art-making was woven into everything she did whether it was decorating mud pies with wild flowers, designing newspapers for her Barbie dolls, creating books for her classroom, or painting murals for her school. She studied graphic communications and journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After working for over 20 years as an art director and designer in the advertising industry, she decided to replace the computer for an easel and pursue her love of painting.
Whether painting or drawing, Nancy’s work reflects her life-long love for the color and light found in nature, and in everyday scenes and objects. “It is the physical act of painting and being creative that feeds my soul and brings me peace.” An award-winning artist, Nancy has been juried into many local, national and international shows, receiving several Best of Show and other awards along the way. Her greatest joy, though, is not in the awards, but in the process of painting and sharing her love of art with others.
Nancy has studied with Dreama Tolle Perry; Carol Marine; Ken DeWaard; Robert Burridge; John Ebersberger; and Mary Ulm-Mayhew. Their influence and love of sharing their knowledge has encouraged Nancy to do the same in the classes and workshops she teaches in the central Wisconsin area.
In addition to being a full-time artist, Nancy is also a wife, mother, and grandmother.
