Biography
Spanish artist Rubén Fernández Pereira was born in 1984 and specializes in hyperrealistic drawings. Although he had a strong interest in sketching from an early age, he did not really commit to it until 2022, when he began using the hyperrealism approach for the first time. He started receiving instruction from his mentor, the renowned German artist Dirk Dzimirsky, in 2023. He began working as a professional artist in 2024 and became an instructor at the D.R.A.M.A. (Dzimirsky Realism Art Master Academy).
In his artworks, he seeks to represent narrative scenes, personas, and emotions, employing traditional techniques primarily with charcoal or graphite on paper or canvas. He enjoys investigating the impact of light and shadow to infuse each image with significant dramatism. Details are essential to hyperrealistic drawing; thus, he deliberately accentuates the intricate elements highlighted by light to establish a focal point in each composition.
His work’s main features are the emotional expressiveness of the subjects and the careful use of compositional elements to create story-telling portraits.
