Biography
Six years ago, my daughter, Meghan, gifted me a watercolor set to help me cope with my fathers passing, who was an accomplished oil painter, refer to picture below,Painting became my solace connecting me to my day and sparking a newfound passion. After 42 years as an RN, I retired to pursue painting full time. Starting with YouTube tutorials, then advancing to virtual workshops, I learned invaluable lessons as a beginner artist: paint every day for at least an hour, don’t strive for a masterpiece in every painting, and view mistakes as “happy accidents” and use them as opportunities to use your artistic license.
Three years in, I felt the confidence to sell my paintings at local markets, delighting in the positive feedback and sales. My paintings are truly heartfelt, therefore I only sell originals guaranteeing the customer a one of a kind piece
Now, I am showcasing my work in art galleries and earning accolades including first place for watercolor and best of show in 2023. Refer to picture below. My ultimate aim? To open a studio where seniors can unearth their hidden creativity and find joy in their own unique artistic expression.
