Biography
I have always loved art and drawing, but I didn't start a regular practice until relatively late in life. I have spent most of my years immersed in science, first getting a PhD in biology, and later using that background to support a career in science communication. I currently work part time at an animation house where I storyboard, animate, and record voiceover for educational biology animations. It's gratifying work that keeps me on a path of lifelong learning.
Art keeps me on that path, too! I see no end to learning new techniques, understanding composition, and improving my ability to see and interpret a scene in front of me. And the more I learn and the more skilled I become, the more I enjoy the process itself-which is the main reason I continue!
