Even though I myself am an artist, I still collect other artists. The more naive the better. I also am constantly looking for Modern Art that expresses a new way artist contribute to the calendar time they work in. We are in the 21 century. Art during this time period has never existed. That really goes without saying. You most likely will not have a huge following but if you think that gift is speaking inside you after decades of realism and representational art then go for it. Hark this, there is your academic training involved. (Gallery owners don't like this. Their stable of clients want to recognize a brand and one brand only at 80 miles an hour as they highly desire their friends acceptance in collecting art.)
